I love the Novel Marketing Podcast!!
Excellent podcast – it really opened my eyes to new ideas that I hadn’t considered before. It would never have occurred to me to approach the airport book stores but with hindsight it makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the great advice – I’ve tweeted and pinned it so my followers can benefit.
Now I’m keen to listen to more of your podcasts so I think I’ll spend my Saturday afternoon catching up with them.
Thanks again
Loved the ideas in this podcast. Really good stuff. One question: You suggested that we go into bookstores and ask for the manager, and if they carry our book, start by thanking them (great idea). What if the bookstore doesn’t carry my book? Do you mean just jump to the next step – that is, offer to promote their events, etc.? Just identify myself as a local author, and then…? I’m finding it hard to imagine the conversation without that “Thank you” to start the conversation.
Loved the podcast, as usual, but I have a couple of questions:
1) What if you are self-published and bookstores are not carrying books–how can I convince them to do so? Any tips?
2) How can I help the store manager make more book sales? What can I offer the manager as “just another author”? (Besides bookmarks and signings, which as an obscure author, the manager is probably not interested in me anyway.)
Thanks again. I’ve recommended your site to various fellow authors as it is so helpful!
