So far, MyBookTable 2.0 has been a huge hit. In just two months, it has already outsold MyBookTable 1.0 (excluding Kickstarter backers).
But, just because MyBookTable is the #1 Bookstore plugin on WordPress doesn’t mean we have stopped working hard to make it better.
We are excited to announce MyBookTable 2.1.  This new version comes with both performance and usability improvements.
Improving the pre-order process was our primary focus on this version. We added the “notify me” button in 2.0 that allowed people to sign up for email updates. Now MyBookTable is the ultimate tool for an author with a book coming out in the future.
Here are a few highlights:
iTunes Affiliate Integration
Apple iTunes is the second-highest bookseller for many authors. Â With that in mind, MyBookTable now supports iTunes affiliate integration, allowing authors to be paid twice for their book. And this integration is available in the free version of the plugin.
Pubslush Pre-Order Button
Pubslush is a crowdfunding platform created specifically for authors. Recently, Pubslush added pre-orders to their platform. Now you can add a “Pubslush Pre-Order” button to the book page of an upcoming book with just three clicks.
Why we like Pubslush:
They are easy to work with- They are author-centric (like Author Media)
- They have live people to call if you need help
Celery Pre-Order Button
Celery is a pre-order platform that is dead simple to use. They specialize in helping fill the gap between crowdfunding projects and the actual launch of the product. They are the go-to pre-ordering platform for technology projects like the ThingCHARGER and the Neptune Duo Smartwatch.
Now you can add a Celery Pre-Order button right in MyBookTable.
Why we like Celery:
- Their checkout process is beautifully elegant and designed to maximize conversions, which is tech-speak for more sales with the same number of visitors
- They have a a simple interface for both sellers and buyers.
- They integrate with Stripe.

Does MyBookTable 2.x support international links for Amazon and iTunes? I have MyBookTable 1.0 and love it, but not being able to use international links is a real disadvantage and the one missing feature I’d love to have.
It’s unfortunate that when the plugin is licensed, it still validates Amazon links. I don’t see why it should (there’s no need to add your affiliate tag in that case). If the plugin would stop validating Amazon links when it’s licensed, we could specify international links. Yes, there’s the universal buy button, but it doesn’t look all that great (I want the pretty Amazon button). We should be able to just specify the international links in the Amazon field when we’ve paid for the plugin. It would be another reason for folks to upgrade to the paid version.
Sarah,
I have some good news for you.
Both MyBookTable 1 and 2 support international Amazon links. We even have people who have translated the plugin into other languages.
Are you talking about international affiliate integration? Right now MyBookTable only works with a single affiliate country at a time. We thought about adding multiple affiliate countries but not enough authors care about that.
You can also disable the amazon affiliate system all together is you have a licensed copy.
Contact support and we can give you more specific help.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant links like those from GeoRiot (and similar services) that will redirect anyone who clicks to the appropriate Amazon store, based on that person’s location. For example, if a person located in the UK clicks on the link, they’ll go to Amazon.co.uk. Someone in Canada would go to Amazon.ca. That way you only need one Amazon button, rather than one for each store, which isn’t desirable due to cluttering. These services also provide link analytics, so using the links is really useful for authors, and also convenient for readers who click them. I was surprised when I discovered that MyBookTable doesn’t support them in the licensed plugin (I understand why you don’t support them in the free version).
As I said in my last comment, when the plugin is licensed, it should stop validating the links, so that those of us who have upgraded can use whatever links we want with the Amazon and other buttons.
Ah GeoRiot. We’ve thought about adding GeoRiot support a while back but we hadn’t heard from any users who wanted it. We’ve added some advanced features in the past only to find no one was using them.
I’ll look into a way for you to use GeoRiot other than having to use the Universal Buy Button.
I’d actually like to use BookLinker.net (GeoRiot owns it; it’s more geared toward indie authors). There’s also SmartURL, so if you’re considering adding this feature, it might be best not to focus on one service. Using these links is becoming more popular.
Hey Thomas,
Let’s see if we can figure something out. I’m sure this would be good for our clients across GeoRiot and BookLinker.

Count me in as another author who uses SmartURL for the international Amazon stores. Right now, I have two Amazon buy links in MBT–one with a validated link for U.S. and one universal link for the SmartURL link with multiple affiliate codes.
It works, but the universal link isn’t as pretty. 🙂
Oh, and thanks for looking into it. 🙂
Do you not accept paypal as a form of payment? (for your premium plugin)
We prefer credit or debit cards. That said, if you contact us through the contact form asking for a PayPal invoice we can send you one.
